Sign the guestbook before you go

Old-web energy, on purpose. Leave a note, say hi, tell me what brought you here. No account, no login, no email address I'll never use. Just a name, or not, and whatever you want to say.

★ ✧ ・゚ Welcome to my corner of the web · thanks for stopping by · sign the book · tell me what you're building · you look nice today ・゚✧ ★
Visitor counter
Padded by 23,000, exactly like every hit counter on every homepage in 1998, because I asked for it to be. The moving part is real though. It counts how many times this browser has loaded the page, and that count stays in your browser and never gets sent anywhere. A real number wearing a fake hat.

This one is meant to be shared, not private. What you write goes to my server and shows up for everyone else who visits, forum style. It does not sit in your own browser where only you can see it. That is how it started out, and I said so at the time. I moved it because a guestbook only you can read is just a diary. If my server ever can't be reached, the page tells you plainly at the bottom of this box. It will not quietly pretend your note went out. It hangs onto what you wrote and posts it next time instead.

A few practical things. There's a limit of 3 notes per day. Because there's a real server behind this now, it counts your connection and not just your browser, so clearing your cookies won't reset it. Your name and message are the only things published. I do keep a record of the connection each note came from, purely so that limit works and so I can remove anything abusive. That record is never shown on the page. I never hand it to anyone either. If my server happens to be down when you visit, the page will say so, hang on to whatever you wrote, and post it next time instead of pretending it went through.

✏️ Leave a note

Leave it blank and you post as Anonymous. No account needed either way.
